Server Topology

  • Geographical distribution - RMCP servers can be dispersed geographically to save bandwidth over the WAN, increase capacity and support growth, allowing for regionalized sessions and substantial network traffic reduction. Compared to central server and multiple-unicast architectures where each participant gets a full set of streams, Arel's architecture of distributed RMCP servers ensures that only a single set of streams is received by the server. This translates into tremendous bandwidth savings and lowers connection speed requirements dramatically.
  • Web services architecture - Arel's RMCP was designed in conjunction with a variety of .NET APIs to provide a set of messaging protocols, programming interfaces, and network registration and discovery facilities that expose all business functions and logic to authorized parties. Information can be shared, configured and monitored with a simple standard XML based API. RMCP's web services suite substantially shortens any integration with existing CRM and ERP systems.
  • Redundancy and scalability - Each server component can be multiplied using load balancing to increase capacity or provide spare fail-over capacity. Arel RMCP is designed to utilize the Microsoft Network Load Balancing (NLB) server and Component Load Balancing (CLB) architecture with additional optimizations based on evenly distributing audio mixing loads. This allows for centrally servicing very large numbers of concurrently connected participants by adding servers, achieving scalability and redundancy.
